Uber drivers commonly tell the same story around the more than 80 countries where the app has presence: they’re happy making money by driving their cars in their own schedule. But any good enterprise has a start, and without any doubt, all Uber Drivers faced the same doubts that maybe you have. The question here is: how do I start? The first step may be the hardest, but in this case, it could be the easiest of all.
Uber driver sign in
In addition to having a car, a smartphone and free time, Uber needs that you fulfill some requirements in order to become an Uber driver. Before you sign up for Uber, remember that:
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- You must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- You must have a clean driving record and background check.
Also, keep in mind that your car has to be:
- A 4-door sedan with space for 4 passengers, excluding the driver.
- Model 2001, or newer.
- Checked by Uber inspectors (or a third party allowed by Uber) to make sure your vehicle is in good conditions.
If you are qualified, you can start filling the form in the online platform. Here, you’ll have to fill some personal data (email, phone number, social security number) and upload your documents (driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance).
In case you don’t have the app installed in your device, the platform will show you the option to send a download link to your smartphone. Otherwise, you can search for the app in the App Store or the Play Store. Once you complete the form, wait to receive an Uber email to confirm that your background check has been cleared and that you have been approved to become an Uber driver.
